Picking up the Facts after the stupidity is Over

Some people never get it..

I was out with friends the other day and we were going to the movies. I had some Gift Certificates for the movies so I didn’t go through the main sales area. When my party and I went to get drinks and popcorn I was told that the ATM and credit card machines were out, and why I didn’t see the signs on the door.. I grumbled that I didn’t see any signs. I was fortunate because my friends had cash for the popcorn ands sodas that any good movie deserves, but I was for the first time called Racist by the black counter help. I wish to state that I have little problems with people based on race.. Color is such a poor measure of a souls worth. I do have a problem with stupidity which as anyone who is enlightend is colorblind by its base nature.. I am the last soul that anyone should come to claiming racism.. Wear braces up to your hips from age 2 – 15 and be heavyset then you might be able to understand that I have some knowlege of the cruelty of people… Being black is not a free ticket for racism.. Civil rights are for all people.. look carefully in the photos of the historic marches in the name of Racism and you will also find peoples of many colors. Stupidity, and Rudeness are never a good measure of Civility…

The Selected Few…

It is now June, and spring has come and gone. In the heat of the sun the issue of just who is worthy of insurance remains. After all, As I have spoken before this is not a money issue for whole segments of the population. There are People who are denied coverage just because of a birth defect (Like Me) or other similar or disimilar conditions. If you are like me and you choose to make something of your life you will be denied access to insurance because of the birth defect and you will be disenfranchised from Medicare or medicaid because you make to much money as you earn your daily bread. Some will say”Well at least you have money to afford to go to a doctor.” Sure I do, but there is no repricing to network rates that good insurance companies have with the doctors and major care facilities. So how much of a hit can I really take. If you want to have a sobering moment think about thr ramifications of what I am saying… People who make money and make something of themseleves should have equal rights to healthcare..when will we the people be an inclusive statement for all people not just the have nots or small segmented group determined by old men in a back room in Washington D.C. For that matter quit trying to put it on the backs of small businesses between the minimum wage and the hikes in the insurance preimiums that the insurance companies pack on there won’t be any small business….. In the Arena of Health Care Coverage “We the People” must be inclusive to all the people, Not the selected few

The Real cost of Being Bulletproof..

I am always amazed by the individual who says that they don’t need any Insurance or health coverage.. Sooner or later something will happen as to cause someone to need ether a good doctor or a hospital because they are ether sick or physically injured… If the individuals can not afford the cash payments for a doctor they use the emergency room as the Primary Doctor.. this leads to many problems like: The illness or injury in question is already worse as they have waited to get treatment, or the oposite of that which is clogging the Emergency room with minor colds, flu etc where as larger more acute injuries and conditions could be treated sooner if not for the physican treatable illnesses in a typical emergency room.. And this drives up the cost of healthcare and treatment in general as the hospitals are going to recoup what they can, and the Insurance Companies charge small businesses and individuals more to cover the rising cost of the claims.. And can anybody tell me in english what the actuarial formulas are for insurance? I didn’t think so.. Just because the individual isn’t insured doesn’t mean that treatment does cost.. They still get a bill, and if they can pay it the taxpayers are paying it… And I don’t qualify for regular insurance but I know the real cost of being Bulletproof..

A much needed break…

It has been a while since I have written, my wife and I took off and got our Airstream, and played by the beaches of indian rocks… Will be writing more in the future as I have much to say after taking some time to sort it out.. The sea is the cleanser of my soul and I had been to long away from her..

What good money gets you Or will they let you give them your good money?

It is late night again as I put fluid thoughts onto this electric screen. We have the best health insurance that good money can buy although these days that same good money buy less and less coverage as insurance companies increase their premiums to offset the increased cost of these services they provide. Congress has proposed many times for small businesses and Business in general to cover the cost of health-care for the employees.. They have got to be kidding right? No matter what they tell you small business can’t handle that.. We the taxpayers already pay for the indigents health-care through our taxes that pay for both the Government programs and the cost of our inflated stays at a hospital.. the cost of the uninsured has to be paid somehow.. Does a hospital bed really cost $100.00 a night? In examining health-care and insurance if is always a good idea to look behind the retoric…

For those of you reading this you may ask why I have such passionate feel for this subject.. you only have to step into the shoes of my life.. I was born with a congenital condition which is Cerebral Palsy a condition that gives me the mark of an Automatic decline on Insurance.. This last week I went with my wife to look into Long Term Care insurance, and sadly folks I don’t even get to look at it.. I am automatically declined.. Who are they to decide if I am worthy, or for that matter anyone else? Sometimes you can have money to afford it, and still it isn’t enough… Pre-existing Conditions are a killer for Insurance coverage…

And what shall we do with that which we choose to Ignore?

Another day goes by and somewhere out there is someone who ether doesn’t have insurance or Does not qualify for coverage? Both conditions are just as disasterious to the individual as believing the bullets in the gun that is pointed at you won’t kill you. It is a funny thing in life that we all believe that health is forever, but the reality is not always the way it is… Is it?

The Ignored Invisible…

In life there are always choices some you like some you don’t.. I just can’t be quiet anymore. I have worked hard in my life to be more than the limitations of my physical body.. I have risen to my position in life through opportunity and good choices that I have made with the information that I have on hand.. I like it that way.. Give me an opportunity and I will make something of it. There is one area of my life that the choices were made for me without thought or regard for my welfare. It is that I am declined on most insurance because of a birth defect that I was born with and it is Cerebral Palsy. Somehow don’t remember getting the questionnaire about being Disfranchised from the chosen worthy of those that don’t push the % over the mythical number of acceptable risk. And my complaint is but a small tip of the iceberg the we call the uninsured and the separate but equal category of the uninsurable. In this blog you and I will have a conversation about the many aspects and myths of this complex issue that affects over 47 million and climbing uninsured.. It may also interest you to know that 75 million more people are under-insured and that number too grows daily.. In April, Cover the uninsured will attempt to put a spotlight on this issue but I fear that it will fall upon those all too deaf ears. http://covertheuninsured.org

Why is it always the case that we need the Iconic Wisdom of Solomon to get our attention. Whose child or relation is put to the sword of who is worthy and who is not?
